Asbestos Awareness training would benefit anyone who through their normal work activities could be exposed to materials containing asbestos in the workplace. Particularly those working in the refurbishment, construction and maintenance industries.
The purpose of this half day course is to provide learners with an understanding of the potential hazards and risks associated with asbestos-containing materials (ACMs). Additionally, the course offers a comprehensive outline of the legal provisions that enable employees to protect themselves and others during work related activities.
Please note this course does not train you to work with asbestos-containing materials.

What you will learn
- Accurately identify common asbestos products
- An overview of the legislative measures in place to permit employees to safeguard themselves and others affected by work activities from asbestos
- Identify where asbestos may be found in buildings or in the workplace
- An understanding of the hazards, health risks and controls associated with the accidental disturbance of asbestos
Assessment: Delegates must complete a written test.
Certification: On successful completion of this course each delegate will receive a UKATA certificate valid for one year.
